My Role & Responsibilities

Project Overview

OnboardMe was a 4-month virtual internship project using Scrum methodology to develop a web-based onboarding solution for Belgian clients. Working entirely remotely, I evolved from UX Designer and Frontend Developer to Product Owner, becoming responsible for Scrum backlog management and direct client communication. When the project faced potential cancellation after missing client requirements under previous team leadership, I took initiative, reorganized the virtual team, and delivered the complete project in just 2 months.

The Challenge

During the 4-month virtual internship using Scrum methodology with Belgian clients, the distributed team initially missed critical client requirements under previous leadership. Working entirely remotely complicated communication and backlog management. After 2 months, the project was facing potential cancellation as client expectations were not being met. The challenge was to quickly establish effective virtual Scrum processes, clarify product backlog, and deliver a complete solution while coordinating a remote team.

The Solution

Took Product Owner role to save the virtual project. Established direct communication channels with Belgian clients and reorganized Scrum backlog within 2 days. Implemented effective virtual Scrum processes including remote sprint planning, daily standups, and client reviews. Led accelerated development using React.js while maintaining constant virtual communication to ensure alignment and delivered the complete project in just 2 months.

Impact & Results

Successfully rescued the project from potential cancellation and delivered complete solution in 2 months instead of planned 4 months. Earned Silver Medal at international competition in Belgium. Client remained highly satisfied with the turnaround and my leadership initiative. Demonstrated exceptional problem-solving, leadership, and rapid delivery capabilities under pressure.
